1. Where is your Heimat?

One would think of the German word “Heimat” as being ones “Homeland”, to put it into a simple English translation.  But, perhaps, ones Heimat is where one “feels at home”? …  Social space, topography and area create feeling, mood and a relationship with the person.  In the dictionary it reads: “People are bound to their Heimat by their birth, childhood, language, earliest experiences or acquired affinity.”  What if your place of birth and childhood has changed so much it is a unrecognizable Homeland?  Does one search out a place that resembles this original feeling? or left to feel “Heimatlos”?  Where is your Heimat?
